I am 'Damola Olofinlua

Writer, Editor, Publicist & Marketing Communications Strategist

I have a background in creative writing. Poetry is my rock. But through the years, I have learnt other forms of content creation and delved deeper into copywriting while mastering the full gamut of marketing communications (marcomms).

In the past 14 years in marcomms, I have had a lot of “darlings.” I have loved some more than others. Of them all, my heart and time have serviced more of copywriting, ghost-writing, UX writing, book publications management, public relations (PR), editing, media relations, search engine optimisation, brand management and product marketing.

I have edited some really great books—fiction and non-fiction—by authors across the world.

Sometimes, I express my thoughts in written words.

I have also worked in diverse capacities with leading personal and corporate brands in various industries covering Technology/SaaS (SystemSpecs Group – Remita, Human Manager, Paylink, FundACause; Tranter IT; IOT Africa; BullseyeDMP), the Academia (School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University), Publishing (Parresia Publishers, Paperworth Books, Narrative Landscape), Media (234NEXT, YNaija, The Spark, Island Explorer Magazine), NGO/Art (Splendid Literature and Culture Foundation, PulpFaction Club), among others.

While at the Pan Atlantic University, as Project Manager and Research Assistant to Dr. Richard Ikiebe, I produced a critical publication, Nigerian Media Leaders: Voice beyond the Newsroom [Volumes 1 &2], a book that comprehensively chronicles the Nigerian media from independence till 2010. The publications featured interviews with about 100 foremost Nigerian journalists in print, electronic, and online.

I love to add value to brands, especially by bringing to the fore my knowledge and experience in maximising communications for growth through various channels – digital and offline.

In these years, I have helped individuals and organisations to:

  1. Increase their brand value and valuation,
  2. Boost profit margins through marketing their products and services, and
  3. Improve the brand perception of their executives within and outside their primary industries
